So, what is Global MSME Day?

The United Nations General Assembly designated 27th June as “Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises Day” specifically to raise awareness for all the contributions made by micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) towards achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Why is Global MSME Day so significant?

It’s a big thing, as MSMEs account for 90% of businesses, 60 to 70% of employment, and 50% of GDP worldwide. MSMEs are the backbone of societies everywhere, they contribute to both local and national economies and help to sustain livelihoods, in particular among the poorer sectors, women, youth, and the more vulnerable groups.

MSME Day 2022 hybrid event focuses on how purpose-driven MSMEs and social entrepreneurship are at the center of contributing to fully inclusive growth, combating inequalities, and building better and more robust businesses, during challenging times.

We started the ball rolling by inviting the lovely Phil Salton into the office for a coffee. As we love coffee at Starfishpeople Ltd HR we would like recommendations for a great local independent coffee shop in Chichester, so we can pop in and enjoy even more coffee at a local MSME.

If you know a great local independent coffee shop drop us a line on 01234 967961 or email [email protected]
