Personality matters in your job search

Does it feel like the presidential race is now a personality contest? Well, for a lot of people it is. It's no different when you interview for a position. If two people interview with similar skill sets, they will chose the one they personally liked more. You need to find that personal connection with the people you interview with. Don't go over board with weird antics, just asking (and caring) about how they feel about the company, where they came from etc. Here are some tips on how to be prepared when interviewing.

Happy Labor Day, or is it...

121 years ago 10,000 workers took an unpaid day off and assembled in NY City for the first Labor Day celebration. It was planned and organized, in some accounts, by the Central Labor Union. Urging other unions to participate, they continued their unpaid celebrations for another 12 years before Congress passed the legislation recognizing it as a National Holiday. The earlier celebrations were not organized solely to give workers a much needed day off. The celebrations included picnics and entertainment but they also gave workers a platform to air their grievances about salaries, hours, and bad working conditions.

As you can see, we are bigger and better than before with a fun new look and feel.
